Hello, New World, it's time begin!

Hello! Did you all have a nice Christmas?
I sure did! I've been with family, I've met some really REALLY old friends, and some of my really close ones. Can't wait to see more of my close friends on New Years!
I went to see the Hobbit too, and I really loved it!
Been eating too much though, but hey, it's Christmas right?^^
This is my dads place, where I had Christmas dinner, and this is my old room:
I was going to a Christmas party.

As I promised, I'm posting the lyrics for our final song, Goodnight, Cruel World.
Like I said, it's a little juvenile, but is does have a point and it's just fun lyrics for a live show!

Goodnight, Cruel World

Hey, mister, do you care
that you are blocking my way?
Hey my life just started
I'm gonna end your days.

I don't care what you believe, I am old enough to read
and you're making rules for me that you don't follow.
If we can't change your mind
then we will be left behind
All the manners without heart are fucking hollow.

Your greed is rising in me now.
Don't pull me back don't pull me back
back to your time.
The age of old men
will come to an end
thorough a law or through crime.

Do you think that you can shape us, you will die before you do!
Power brats!
Power brats!
It's our song!
Do you think just 'cause you made us we were made to be like you?
Gratulations on your values, shut the fuck up now
and sing along!

Hey, sisters! Hey, brothers!
The world needs someone like you.
Power brats
united!
Go for the future, crew!

You can try to beat us down, but we're gonna take the crown!
We've been taught to break the rules by our teachers.
I don't wanna die today, and I'm not gonna be okay.
We're not gonna let you call us fucking leeches.

Your angers rising up within.
Goodbye, old world
Hello, new world, it's time, begin
Call me what you want
just words so they won't
even scratch at my skin.

Do yo think ...

There's a lot of lyrics, and it is quite a long song. It is kind of the main work on the CD.

I wish you all a happy new year and a happy New Years Eve! Personally I'm really excited about 2014!

Happy Jul, people!

Hi! Merry Christmas!
Sorry for the delay, the last week in Japan was soooo fucking busy, and then I got on a plane and well... I guess I've just been in hyper relax mode since I got here. That' an oxy moron for you right there ;)
I know it's the holidays, but in my experience I never know when someone's gonna start to nag me, so I'm trying to relax as much as possible!

I've got a few things I want to write about, so I'm taking a break in my busy schedule of horror movie watching and willpower battles with the gingerbread.

First of all, the last week before Christmas I had my two last days of recording. The last one was the hardest. On both the other days we got two songs down with a good margin, but we saved the longest, most difficult and least practiced song for the last day. The title track of the album, "Goodnight, Cruel World". Very describing for my feelings throughout the day btw. We've only had one practice with this song and only one live, and it's like five minutes long and had THREE full sheets of lyrics. That's my fault though :P
Here is the whole team after we finished.
I do feel that we've made kind of an epic punk song though. It's a bit juvenile, but in spite of it's title the lyrics are definitely more punk and less emo than any of the other tracks on the CD. I'll try to make a lyric post sometime during the holiday, and then we'll just have to wait for the release in March to hear the song ^-^ I'm pretty excited about the whole album actually! We're so much better now than the last CD we made!

Naturally, some celebrations were in order.
This time yakitoriniku... don't tell me that's not a real type of food, have you been to this restaurant?
Since we had to sit at two different tables Tomoya entered competition mode and suddenly it was all about who could eat the most meat before our time was up... All so healthy ^^;

Kento ordered this grotesque shit. I've seen a lot of intestine looking like intestine in my life, but this one takes the cake.
Who could eat this??
Just thought I'd share, you know :D

Takaji, self acclaimed Party yarou (party bastard), hadn't really celebrated for a while.
Being a responsible contributor to society can take it's toll on your alcohol tolerance. Just a warning to you people out there who are thinking of taking the step and actually grow up soon :P

You're never too old for purikura though, are you?
Beautiful. There we go.

We also filmed a new SALTV that day. Finally!
And it's not just another SALTV, it's the one all in English that I promised the international twitter readers a loooong time ago^^; It'll probably be up sometime during the holidays, so please look for it! I'll ofcourse post it here!

The very last two days before going home to Norway for Christmas I went to the town office to take care of some long overdue address changing business, and then I had a Christmas date with my guy on the last day.
We started out with some Christmas shopping in Shibuya, bought each other presents, and then moved on to yakiniku....
It's Christmas, ok? You're allowed to stuff yourself like a pig, right? ;_; Right?
We ended up inviting Cat to have dinner with us too, so I got to spend a little time with my two favorite people in the world before getting on that plane the next day.
Bye, Japan. Bye, Pirate Puppies. See you again in a few weeks hopefully!

Hello, Norway. Hello, goat cheese.

Goodnight and merry Christmas, Cruel World.
I'm so jet lagged lol

Winter greifs and nabe-party

Yesterday the band had a nabe-party at Kentis apartment.
For the uninitiated, nabe is basically meat and vegetables cooked in a pot with soup or stock of some sort, and you keep the pot on the table and make more as you eat. It's kind of a Japanese winter tradition.
Because we're SALTY DOG, we ofcourse did salt base. We didn't eat dog meat though, but Tomoya tried to convince Kentis bunny, Rum-chan, that the pot was a bathtub for her:P
She didn't go for it.
Of course we used the day to do some work on the newest song too, before the recording next week, and we also had to make some slightly overdue decisions about the new band logo and some stuff, and then Tomoya gave each of us our to-do lists^^;
And then Kenti brought out some yukke!!
Yukke is not just the name of the bass player in MUCC (I'm actually curious why he chose that name), it is actually a type of raw meat dish. I think it's originally Korean, but I could be wrong.
Might seem a little weird to some people, but all though I can't stand raw fish I love raw meat! It was so delicios!

I've also started making some ideas for out band t-shirt...
I'm not sure what we're going to end up with, as some of us have very different taste when it comes to art and design, but I'm really liking this character. If it doesn't end up as a band t-shirt I might make t-shirts anyway^^

Today I've taken the Saturday off, pretty much. Except for cleaning the house and doing some shopping. Need to rest and stay warm to try and beat this beginning throat cold that I've had since yesterday. Gahh I have a super weak immune system and I usually spend the entire winter battling a sore throat. If I can just stay healthy until the recording is over next week that's all I ask!
Finally got the opportunity to steal my bfs Coldrain hoodie! Today was definitely hoodie weather, which is quite the compliment for a December day! Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm really excited! I refuse to be sick!

My guy also made me a huge batch of okayuu that I could eat throughout the day, with garlic and stuff, 'cause that's how he rolls *^-^*
Okayuu is kind of like rice porridge that for some reason it's really good for a sore throat.
Lots of food facts today, huh?:p

Making of the sounds

Trying out blogging from my phone for the first time, I'm sorry if something looks off or anything.

So yesterday I had my first recording session for the new album.
I was kinda nervous, because recording has always been a big ordeal for me. I get nervous and my voice gets flat and nothing sounds like it's supposed to :(
Turns out, however, that I'm a much better singer now than last time, and also that there is a big difference between recording in the basement of a university with media students as engineers (like we did on the last album, Chasing my Tail), and recording in a proper studio with a pro engineer^^
Who'd have thunk it, huh?
Me in the recording booth.

It went really well and I finished two songs smoothly, still leaving time for Tomoya to do the background vocals and Kento to put the finishing touches on the guitar tracks.
Tomoya, Kento and our manager DAISAN (he used to sing in a band called Killkills)all pitched in on the "slutty background vocals" for Night of the Dancing Dead.
I know that the more diffecult songs are still to come, but it makes me feel very good that we managed to get two finished so smoothly^^

Afterwards the whole team went to yakiniku!
Ahahahahaaaaaa♪───O(≧∇≦)O────♪
Guuuuuhhh{(-_-)} the Japanese guys, of course, were so excited about the squid they ordered three plates...
Kento and me.

Even Tomoya had a few drinks, without keeling over, there was some kind of magic in the air^^
I guess I shouldn't be celebrating so much since my recording is not by far finished, but I guess I can celebrate for Kento, right?

I was gonna do a few "deprevation days", starting today. That's when I change most my meals for salads and stay away from candy and alcohol, but as it was I suddenly got really sick on the train this morning and had to get off halfway to school, cause I felt like I was gonna puke.
I tried chilling out for a while and went to get some breakfast at the station I'd gotten off at.
It made me feel a little better and I got to school for my second class.
Now I'm on my way home. My bf came back from a Coldrain/Crossfaith Kansai tour this morning, and I'm looking forward to hanging out together.
He had some very awesome news for European Coldrain fans, but I'm not sure if it's official yet, so I'll leave it at that for now☻

Gonna sleep on the train now! Goodnight, Cruel World!

It's that time of the yarr, mates!

Hey there, where were you yesterday? I was at the Dog Pirates Banquette vol.2!
Dog Pirates Banquette is an event that my band arranges. We dress up as pirates on stage, the last time we had Norwegian candy and alcohol, this time we didn't have the time to have anything sent to us so we made do with the free Tequila that is always offered at Headpower.
This was also the last live performance we will have in 2013.
Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of my pirate costume this time.
The guys wear the same outfit every time, but I really love dressing up, so I've made a new outfit for each time so far. The hat I've even made myself, out of a cowboy hat from the 100yen shop, because believe it or not it's not easy to find a pirate costume hat in Japan!

The first band out was 過剰装飾人形楽団 ( I think it's pronounced Kajousoushokuningyougakudan, everyone in the house were breaking their tongues trying to pronounce this XD)

They were a visual kei band that I didn't know from before, I'm not sure if they were friends with Tomoya or Takashi, but they were really nice people! They're music was also pretty good, though the wierd anime voice actor intros were a bit too nerdy for my tastes ^^ The vocalist had a really good voice though, and the guitarist was amazing!
They had this one guy in the front who was his own little otaku freak show, it was hilarious. He had dances to all their songs, like a visual kei fan girl, except he was just a very normal looking office worker in a suit and glasses. He also had a glow stick.
It made me laugh, but I actually think it's pretty amazing when people can come all alone and just be that into the music that they're just completely oblivious to their surroundings and don't give a fuck.

We had told our guests they could dress up as pirates too, someone only heard the part about dressing up and not as what...
I also have no idea why he's sitting at our merch table XD
For the one kid who did come as a pirate, he got some pirate make-up done by Cat (https://twitter.com/SALTYDOG_staff), who also did the make-up for the boys in the band that day. I just realized I didn't get a picture of her pirate outfit either :(

This is Make Money For the Fixtures, a band basically made up of employees at Headpower.
Lol, DJ Saburo looks like the Grim Reaper in the background XD
They've changed their vocalist. Wierd coincidence that both the former and present bartender at Headpower have extremely good, deep voices. I was also super impressed since I didn't even know that Ojou was a singer!

Here's Liquidz Edge, the ikemen band XD
Also very very good, and very nice guys!

Ever wondered what's going on backstage at a live? Here's a taste of what you could be missing...
The drummer of the next band, Crisis Slave.

First time I heard them too, and I really liked them! Also, I'm so in love with the vocalists t-shirt.
I couldn't watch their whole show though, because we were next!

At first we had kind of a hard time, because one of Tomoyas friends who had come was way way too drunk to be there, but I think we more or less handled it. And luckily, one of the guys who came to see us handled him after a little while and took him outside ^^
Other than that it was so much fun though my pirate costume was so fucking hot I felt like I was singing on the sun and sweating like a pork roast.
I forgot my hat when I first came on stage, so Cat had to go grab it backstage for me, it was a very busy day for her too, thank you for the hard work!

For the encore we changed into 塩犬(Shio-inu, literally means salt dog in Japanese), supposedly a cover band of SALTY DOG, where Tomoya and Kento switched roles, so Tomoya played guitar and Kento played bass. We played two songs off the old album, Petra and Melt Down. We haven't played Petra in a long long time and it was so much fun for me since I know it so well and also since it's a lot less challenging to sing than out newer songs (though ofcourse our new songs are a lot better, I have to say^-^). It was not easy for Kento and Tomoya though XD

We had a well deserved after party with the people who could stay behind. I haven't really been drinking-drinking for almost a month now, so I was very careful, only having Malibu since it has a lot less alcohol in it than normal Rum, which is my usual favorite. Oh, and I smoothly avoided the free Tequila, that stuff is satanic.

We kind of look like drunk cartoon characters in the pictures, being all green in the faces. Or zombies XD

My friend Alex and my new friend Junya. He had a Chunk! No Captain Chunk! sweater on so we kept calling him Captain Drunk, by some miracle I actually remember his real name.
Some people had been enjoying the free Tequila from quite early on. It can be a little dangerous to make friends with the staff at Headpower XD
I was sooooo sleepy when going home in the morning. Getting too old to party all night^^;
Luckily today was Saturday, so I could just chill aaalll day, sleeping, waking up, sleeping, listening to Norwegian radio and finally watching the Walking Dead mid-season finale. JHC, what the hell are they gonna do for the actual season finale??!O__O
I cried, I screamed a little without even realizing until afterwards XD I almost had to pause it to catch my breath, like I did a lot in the first season. I guess that's gripping television ^-^ Is it almost February yet? I can't waiiiiit!!

Since I also have the first day of recording for the album tomorrow, I'm trying to be nice to my body and eating stuff that's good for me. Drinking a looot of water too!
I'm eating way too much though, alcohol gives me munchies, but it is a Saturday, right?^-^

Here are some bonus shots, it you can call it that XD
Trying on my pirate costume the day before. With my beautiful Norwegian wool tights!
And using fake lashes as a fake mustache...
Cat bought these lashes for the day and she let me have a pair. I'm not used to wearing fake lashes (I think it can look real good, I'm just way way too lazy for that stuff) so I kind of felt like my eyelids were half closed all the time XD

Gonna have a cuppa hot ginger water now and some supper. I'm wondering if I should pack a lunch box for the studio tomorrow...:P

Byesies!

Photoshoot, recording and first day of Advent!

Yesterday we had a photoshoot in Shibuya!
We got our new clothes at the Gekirock Shop.
I told you last time about the importance of skinny pants, well I think everyone is a bit of a brand whore, at least everyone in Japan :P So we decided to get some new clothes for the photoshoot, and the Gekirock shops manager Nico gave us an amazing discount, and was also nice enough to lend us some stuff! Amazing people.
Speaking of amazing people, the Rockaholic people had no problem letting us use the bar, free of charge!

Rockaholic is a bar that's kind of in the center of the whole screamo hardcore rock scene in Tokyo. Asides from always playing awesome music (and taking requests), it's also been the hangout place for both a lot of the kids and a lot of band people.

I got my hair colored pink the day before. I always loved having pink hair, but haven't had it for a while now. I felt so good about it this time though! Too bad it's going to fade soon....T_T
Had to wear a looooot of make-up, since make-up often doesn't show up as much is pictures. I know this might be totally normal amount to some people, and that's completely fine ^^ I'm not used to it, so I kind of felt like I was wearing a mask at first :P But I soon forgot about it!

At first we had to take pictures outside! It was fucking freezing! And I felt like an asshole (and a snowman) since I was wearing a tank top, and people were walking by and stuff.
It felt so good to get back inside!

Lol, what's wrong with my body?XD
I got to borrow these awesome shoes from the Gekirock shop:
Wish I could buy them!!
But I don't have the funds at the moment :P Also, there is no way I could wear these on stage, the soles are really heavy f^^;

I know I suck at posing and I'm not comfortable in front of the camera, but I hope the results will be good and I can't wait to see them!

Today was the first day of recording for the new album, and we started with Takashi:
I wasn't there, because I was instructed to stay at home and cure my cold. Even our record company rep., Dai-san told me I really didn't need to be there.
Takashi told me they got all the songs done, so it seems like everything went fine!

I'm feeling a lot better right now. I did cheat a little bit on my treatment though, I feel like fresh air is good for my healing, as long as I keep warm, and todays weather was great. I actually overdressed ^^
I did sleep a lot! And drank a lot of water and my own cold remedy, and ate an apple and had a really hot bath.

Oohh, and today was the first day of Advent, so merry Christmas, everyone!
I actually found an advent calendar this year. They've been pretty hard to find in Japan, but I've seen them more and more every year.
Why don't you check out my advent calendar on my art blog?
http://osharekid.blogspot.jp/2013/11/sa-tenner-vi-et-lys-i-kveld-med-en.html
I'm posting a new monster every day until Christmas!
Gotta sleep now, I have school tomorrow!

Goodnight, Cruel World!
